Join the Tea Party in your Mad Hatter Child Costumes
Be part of the Tea Party as the hat maker or Alice in your Mad Hatter child costumes. Fall down the rabbit hole with Alice and encounter all sorts of strange creatures and even be confounded with some logic along with the nonsense. Are you ready for a white rabbit wearing clothes and carrying a stopwatch?
How about a bottle of liquid labeled “Drink Me” which causes you to grow small or a cake with a label that says “Eat Me” which causes you to grow so large you hit your head on the ceiling? This is just the beginning for Alice and her new friends in their Mad Hatter child costumes.
It all began in 1865 with “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, a fantasy novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll. Among the creatures Alice meets in Wonderland are the White Rabbit’s gardener, a lizard named Bill, the Dodo bird, a blue caterpillar sitting on a mushroom smoking a pipe and the Cheshire Cat.
Later, as a guest at the tea party, Alice would meet the March Hare and hypothesis about its behavior, “The March Hare will be much more interesting, and perhaps as this is May it won’t be raving mad—at least not so mad as it was in March”.
She also meets the Mad Hatter there along with the sleeping Dormouse who wakes up on one occasion to proclaim, “You might just as well say, talking in his sleep, ‘that I breathe when I sleep’ is the same thing as ‘I sleep when I breathe’!”
The Hatter who is “mad as a hatter” explains to Alice that it is always tea time because he is being punished by the Queen of Hearts. Tired of being bombarded with riddles she can’t answer, Alice leaves the tea party and the characters in their Mad Hatter child costumes.
Alice moves on to the Queen of Hearts Croquet Grounds where the white roses on the rose tree are all painted red because the Queen hates white roses. The Queen introduces Alice to the Gryphon, who has the body of a lion and the wings, talons and head of an eagle. She also meets the Mock Turtle, who once upon a time used to be a real turtle.
Alice is then dragged away by the Gryphon to a courtroom where the Knave of Hearts is on trail for stealing the Queens tarts. The King of Hearts is the judge for the proceedings. Witnesses at the trial include the Duchess’s cook and the Hatter, who greatly displeases the King with his indirect answers. Alice and the Hatter are in their Mad Hatter child costumes.
Alice begins to grow and the King and Queen order from the court saying “All persons more than a mile high must leave the court”.
